OLD RECTORY

THE SITE

A charming old rectory and garden set within the idyllic countryside surrounding Cambridge. A true gem of rural England, this delightful property has undergone significant transformation and offers far-reaching views across the tranquil and picturesque Cambridgeshire landscape.

THE BRIEF

To create an inviting and enchanting landscape that acts as a seamless bridge between the historical charm of the old rectory and the recently introduced contemporary amenities to elevate the property to become a true haven of comfort and luxury.

DESIGN DETAILS

The gardens surrounding the house are thoughtfully laid out to encourage relaxation and outdoor enjoyment, offering a perfect backdrop for moments of tranquillity and connection with nature. The juxtaposition of traditional roses and meticulously sculpted topiary and contemporary, low-maintenance perennial schemes adds depth and character to the landscape elegantly extending around the new indoor pool and stables buildings, creating a vibrant and dynamic outdoor environment.

Adding a more rustic and charming element to the landscape, the kitchen garden showcases the application of thoughtful and sustainable horticultural practice. Featuring traditional herringbone brick paths, raised beds constructed from reclaimed sleepers support efficient and organised gardening, making it easier to tend to the plants and harvest the bountiful and diverse array of crops.
