Planting in Suffolk
Posted: Tuesday 24 January 2012
I thought that recent weather might have somewhat impeded progress on this wet clayey site. But I was delighted to see that I was wrong and that the garden is beginning to take shape.
I love the topiary, my intentions are that it reflects the billowy nature of the trees on the other side of the valley. The final planting scheme will be minimal using grasses such as Amenanthele lessoniana and bulbs

Grey Day in Suffolk
Posted: Tuesday 25 January 2011
A site visit to check progress on my coastal project in East Anglia show that the deck is nearing completion. I wondered down to the bottom of the garden to take in the estuary view. In spite of it being a pretty miserable day, there is something quite ethereal about the light across the mudflats.

What did you do this Christmas?
Posted: Tuesday 4 January 2011
On Boxing Day, I headed out to our small cottage in Umbria to begin work on the garden. At the moment, it is one hectare of oak woodland (mostly Quercus pubescens) and scrubby grass. My mission is to turn it into a holiday friendly place with minimal impact on the woods.
